Search for witnesses following death of pedestrian in Sunshine North

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate witnesses in two vehicles following the death of a pedestrian in Sunshine North on Sunday night, Victoria Police say.

It’s believed two vehicles, a gold Honda CRV and a sedan, were driving north along McIntyres Road and drove around the scene following the collision.

The occupants of those vehicles are yet to speak to police and investigators are urging them to come forward.

A 72-year-old Sunshine West woman died in the collision, which occurred on McIntyres Road about 7.10pm on 18 September.

A 74-year-old Sunshine North woman was also seriously injured during the incident and remains in hospital.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a 40-year-old Truganina man with dangerous driving causing death.

He will appear again at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on 12 December.
