Search is on for Australia's best Young Grower

Corteva Agriscience™, the Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™, has put out a call to search the fields and paddocks to find Australia's best young grower.

Entries are now open for the 2019 Corteva Young Grower of the Year Award, which honours growers, aged 35 years or less, who champion the success of the Australian horticulture industry and show a commitment to innovation, helping to define the next generations of growers.

The award is part of the AUSVEG National Awards for Excellence which will be presented on Wednesday 26 June during the Hort Connections convention in Melbourne.

Nick Koch, Marketing Manager for Horticulture & Insecticides for Corteva said the Corteva Young Grower of the Year Award is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our future industry leaders.

"Every day, in every field and paddock, in every part of Australia, there are young growers achieving great things for our horticulture industry," Nick said.

"Our aim is to see these young growers recognised for their hard work and dedication within their communities."

"Corteva Agriscience is proud to continue our support for the award. Our industry needs more young people involved to continue to build on our fertile history. It's vital that we celebrate the achievements of the next generation of leaders."

"The winner will be a future leader who demonstrates a high level of commitment to the industry and helps to enrich the community in which they operate as well as working with external stakeholders to introduce new perspectives.

"They will be a young grower with a vision for the future, he or she understands the value of sustainability and is committed to enhancing the prosperity of Australian horticulture."

"Previous winners and nominees have grown a wide range of produce including: leafy vegetables, brassicas, potatoes, onions, fruiting vegetables among many others.

"The 2018 Young Grower of the Year Award was awarded to Chris McLoghlin, an outstanding candidate who has subsequently gone on to build a respected profile in the horticulture community.

"We look forward to supporting the next crop of outstanding young growers."
