Search to locate two men after stolen truck crashes into bridge at Picton

Police are searching for two men following a crash involving a stolen truck in Sydney's south west earlier today.

About 5.45am (Wednesday 30 September 2020), emergency services were called to Victoria Bridge on Prince Street, Picton, following reports a truck with a trailer had crashed into the bridge, causing significant damage.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command attended and have been told that the male driver fled the scene in a vehicle, driven by a second male, prior to their arrival.

It was last seen travelling south on Remembrance Drive.

Further inquiries have revealed the truck involved in the crash was stolen from a nearby home earlier today.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to the driver who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of African appearance, aged 20 to 30 years old, with a medium build, wearing an orange fluorescent long-sleeved shirt, dark blue pants and a dark cap.

Police are also seeking information about the vehicle, described as a black BMW with a suspected paint job.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or anyone with video or dashcam vision is urged to come forward.

Prince Street remains closed and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
