Search To Resume For Swimmer Missing At Maroubra

A multi-agency search is scheduled to resume for a swimmer last seen at Maroubra at the weekend.

About 4pm Sunday (1 February 2026), emergency services responded to reports that a man swimming at the southern end of Maroubra Beach had failed to return to shore.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were told the man – aged in his 30s – was with friends at the time.

A coordinated search has continued since involving local police, Marine Area Command, Surf Life Saving, and LifeSaver21 helicopter.

The search was disrupted yesterday by heavy seas; however, is scheduled to resume at 8am today (Tuesday 3 February 2026), with similar resources.
