Inquiries are underway after a car drove into a river in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.
Police and emergency services were called to River Road, Parramatta, about 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 May 2018), after receiving reports a car had driven through a park, over an embankment and into the river.
Upon arrival, two officers entered the water to assist however, the vehicle had already become partially submerged.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command with assistance from Marine Area Command, commenced a search of the river and surrounding areas.
A crime scene has been established and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are underway.
