Search underway for missing 2-year-old boy, Maramie (east of Kowanyama)

A search is underway for a 2-year-old boy missing on an isolated rural property in the state's far north.

The toddler was last seen around 5pm yesterday near the station's homestead, on a remote cattle property located at Maramie, approximately 100kms east of Kowanyama.

A search of the immediate area was conducted by family and station employees with police notified last evening when the boy was not located.

Kowanyama police attended the property last night and participated in further searches for the boy.

Additional police, SES personnel and helicopter support will attend the property today to assist with the search.
