An extensive search and rescue operation is underway for a fisherman suspected missing in the water on the Coffs Coast.
Just before 5.30am tomorrow, police and emergency services were called to Red Rock Headland following reports a 26-year-old man was missing in the water.
The man’s friend reported him missing after he failed to return from fishing at the location yesterday today.
Following an initial search of the area, officers located the fishing gear on the rocks.
A land and sea search is now underway involving police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command, Marine Area Command, including Police Divers, as well as Surf Life Saving NSW.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
