A search is underway for a missing swimmer at Gillards Beach near Tathra overnight.
About 5.30pm (Wednesday 14 August 2019), emergency services were called to Gillards Beach, after reports of a missing swimmer.
Witnesses have told police a 42-year-old Victorian man went for a run and swim earlier, but was not seen again, and his clothes and personal belongings remain on the beach.
Officers from South Coast Police District attended and commenced a search for the man, coordinated by the Marine Area Command and assisted by State Emergency Service (SES), NSW Ambulance, Surf Rescue NSW, PolAir, and SES.
The search has now been suspended and will resume today (Thursday 15 August 2019) morning.
