Search underway to locate girl missing from Sydney's south

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a girl missing from Sydney's south.

Marielle Baena Taboada, aged 14, was last seen at a residence on Banks Street, Monterey, about (TIME) on Thursday (16 February 2023).

After she was unable to be located or contacted, officers attached to St George Police Area Command were notified today (Sunday 19 February 2023) and commenced inquiries to locate her.

Family and police hold concerns for her welfare due to her age.

Marielle is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, with an olive complexion, about 160cm tall, of slim build, with shoulder-length purple hair.

She is known to frequent the Hurstville and Cronulla areas.

Anyone with information about Marrielle's whereabouts is urged to contact Kogarah police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
