Second man charged after Hadfield armed robbery

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a second man following an alleged armed robbery in Hadfield in March.

The 24-year-old Broadmeadows man has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery following the incident on Sunday 1 March.

He has been remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

It is alleged four men entered the North Street supermarket about 8.45pm and threatened the staff with a firearm before making demands for cash.

During a struggle between the men and employees a firearm was discharged.

A 30-year-old from Lalor was arrested at the scene.

He was subsequently charged and remains in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 29 May.
