Second March graduation welcomes 25 more police officers. , SA

Probationary Constables Alyshia Watson and Stephen Wilkin graduate today as part of a 25-member course of new police officers, according to SA Police.

This is the second course to graduate this month, with the community now having the benefit of 47 new police officers in March alone.

Probationary Constable Watson, a former nurse and fitness trainer, has identified mounted operations as one option for her future - which is no surprise as she represented South Australia in equestrian Eventing. No doubt Probationary Constable Watson will look out for a friendly nod from our police greys on patrols in her first posting to Elizabeth.

"I wanted to work within the community and I wanted to work outside and do something that made an impact on our society," she says.

"I can’t wait to get out there and start learning. I look forward to being exposed to different things from day-to-day and being able to apply the knowledge that I have learnt at the Academy."

Keen golfer and civil engineering graduate Probationary Constable Wilkin is looking forward to building a new career in policing, starting with his first posting to Whyalla.

"SAPOL offers a variety of roles within the organization which was appealing. I chose to go to Whyalla because I wanted to experience country living and policing.

"I have enjoyed the Academy and feel that it has prepared me for a career in policing and I’m looking forward to joining a team of like-minded people and making a positive impact in the community."

Congratulations and welcome to all our new police officers!
