Second teen charged over bus stop assault - Mona Vale

A second teenager has been charged following an alleged assault in Sydney's Northern Beaches last month.

About 2.30pm on Thursday 28 January 2021, officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command were patrolling Mona Vale when they saw a boy allegedly being assaulted at a bus stop on Barrenjoey Road.

Police have been told a 16-year-old boy was waiting for a bus when he was approached by a group of teenagers.

It's alleged one of the teens struck him with a glass bottle, while the other hit him with a stick.

The boy was treated at the scene for a laceration to the head and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested following a foot pursuit, before being taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding – in company.

Following inquiries, detectives from Northern Beaches executed a search warrant at a house in Chatswood today (Friday 12 February 2021).

A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Chatswood Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding in company and affray.

Both teenagers were granted conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Wednesday 17 February 2021.
