Second teen charged over theft of firearms at Peak Hill

A second teenage boy has been charged following an investigation into the theft of firearms from a property in the state's Central West.

About 2am on Sunday 21 February 2021, a property on Ingalba Street, Peak Hill, was broken into and several rifles were reported stolen from a safe.

Ammunition and a Suzuki RM250 2000 trailbike were also taken during the break-in.

Officers attached to Central West Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, a 16-year-old boy was arrested in Peak Hill, about 10.30am yesterday (Thursday 4 March 2021).

The boy was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter in company, possess unauthorised firearm, and enter building/ land with intent commit indictable offence.

An outstanding warrant for traffic offences was also executed.

The teen was refused bail to appear before a children's court today (Friday 5 March 2021).
