Police have charged a second youth in relation to a series of assaults at Kings Meadows last week.
A 16-year-old girl was arrested yesterday and charged with common assault, stealing, and burglary.
A 16-year-old boy was previously arrested and charged with a number of offences including assault, after at least three people were injured during multiple disturbances on Hobart Road on Wednesday 23 August.
Police were called to a carpark about 5pm that day, after reports six youths were assaulting a young man.
A witness who tried to intervene was allegedly assaulted by three of the youths.
He was reportedly assaulted a second time when he tried to intervene again after the same youths allegedly assaulted another man in a separate disturbance.
The witness was treated at the scene by paramedics, and transported to the Launceston General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe the initial assault was a targeted incident involving people known to each other.
The 16-year-old girl was bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court, Youth Justice Division on October 5.
Police would still like to speak with the first and third victim, and are interested to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incidents at Kings Meadows on 23 August.
