The Queensland Police Service (QPS) Disability and Elder Abuse Team has presented more than 1,000 gifts to the Star Community Services Secret Santa Appeal this week.
The gifts and essentials donated by QPS members will help bring festive cheer to socially isolated seniors across South East Queensland who would otherwise spend the holiday season alone.
It is hoped these gifts will bring some joy to the recipients, reminding them that they are cared for and their wellbeing is valued.

Elder abuse remains a significant concern in Queensland, with psychological and financial abuse being the most prevalent forms.
Alarmingly, these often occur within intimate family relationships, with adult children frequently identified as perpetrators.
The importance of initiatives like these have been highlighted in the recently published State Government Parliamentary Inquiry into Elder Abuse, released on 12 December.
The report outlines key recommendations to address elder abuse, including promoting awareness of elder abuse and reducing social isolation.
As part of the QPS Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Command, the State Disability and Elder Abuse Team works proactively with partner agencies and numerous non-government organisations, to address elder abuse and support vulnerable individuals.
This holiday season let's all take a moment to reflect on the importance of respecting and supporting our seniors.
Together, we can work towards a Queensland where every individual feels safe, valued, and connected.
