Secure your spot now at Council-run child care centre

Northern Beaches

Putting your child in the care of someone else can be an overwhelming decision, but you can rest assured they will be in the best of care at a Council run centre and several vacancies are now open across four locations.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said Council offers a range of early learning options from long day care to family day care and pre-school to support local families.

"Anyone with young kids knows it's hard to juggle work life and care for a little one, but we take the stress away with our commitment to providing the highest standards of care for your kids.

"We provide a safe, stimulating, and interactive learning environment for children and all our educators have received formal education and qualifications. Our centres all meet or exceed the National Quality Standards, offer quality resources including educational and play equipment and provide a nurturing environment to develop social and emotional skills.

"We have also won several awards for our commitment and standards of care across a number of nationally recognised standards. In fact, all of our centres Exceed or Meet the National Quality Framework, with some in the top nine percent* for the State! You can't get better than that.

"We are also committed to providing affordable and flexible options to suit the specific needs of each family on the Northern Beaches so talk to our team and consider enrolling today, it will give your kids a great educational start."

Northern Beaches Council employs 215 educators and support staff across nine high-quality Long Day Care centres and Pre-schools, caring for and educating over 800 local children.

Several spots are now available at North Harbour Pre-school with eligible parents being able to take advantage of up to two days fee-free care thanks to the NSW Governments initiative.

Manly Mum Mel Gibbs said her 4-year-old son has been delighted by the range of activities and outdoor play on offer at North Harbour Pre-school.

"The location is beautiful and there is so much outdoor space for play. The children are playing and learning outside, unlike many other child care centres," Ms Gibbs said.

"We chose a Council child care service because you get a much more diverse range of kids than some of the privately run pre-schools. The carers are fantastic and they give us honest and constructive feedback about our son's learning and behaviour.

"I would definitely recommend North Harbour Pre-school and Northern Beaches Council child care services to other parents."

There are also vacancies across all age groups at three of our other centres including Belrose, Brookvale and Dee Why Children's Centres.
