Security guard glassed in Flemington

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an altercation at Berala overnight where a security guard was struck with a glass, NSW Police say.

About 2.15am tomorrow a group of four men were leaving a hotel in Woodburn Road.

The men who were reportedly well affected by alcohol stopped at the entrance to the premises and were asked to move by a security guard.

An altercation ensued with the security guard physically removing the men and a number of punches were exchanged.

The security guard was struck with a broken glass during the melee which caused a laceration to his head.

Police from Flemington Local Area Command attended and arrested two men with a third arrested a short time later at Berala. Two of the men later required treatment at Westmead Hospital.

The security guard was treated at the scene and conveyed to Westmead Hospital by Ambulance Paramedics for treatment to his head wound.

Inquiries into the incident continue.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
