On September 5, 2020, at about 9:30 p.m., as a result of the vigilance of staff members, two packages of contraband and unauthorized items were seized at the medium security unit at Collins Bay Institution.
The contraband and unauthorized items seized included tobacco, cell phones, and drugs. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is $179,950.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is heightening measures to prevent contraband from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband into correctional institutions.
