A senior constable from North West Metro Region has been charged with drink driving.
The 31-year-old returned an evidentiary breath test of .206 after being intercepted and breathalysed by police on The Esplanade in Altona on 24 July.
The male officer was off duty at the time.
He was charged with two offences on summons to appear at a magistrates' court at a later date.
