Seniors Grants - now open - Campaspe Shire Council

Applications are now open for organisations within Campaspe Shire who support older residents, to apply for this year's Seniors Grants.

Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston said the Seniors Grants Program provides donations of up to $1,000 to incorporated organisations within Campaspe Shire to deliver programs or events aimed at increasing the health, wellbeing and social connectedness of older citizens.

"Council is committed to increase the connectivity and wellbeing of it's older citizens and the Seniors Grants Program is a way of achieving this," Cr Weston said.

The program forms part of the strategic direction within the council plan to build strong and engaged communities.

"With a quarter of Campaspe's population being over 60 years of age, council recognises the importance of supporting community groups offering opportunities for seniors via the program," Cr Weston said.

Applications will be assessed by a selected panel and will be based on the strength of the project along with the benefit it will provide to the community.

"Preference will be given to projects that demonstrate a commitment to positive aging concepts and with the annual Seniors Festival occuring in October, now is the perfect time to apply for a grant to assist with activity costs," Cr Weston said.

Applications are open now, and will close on Friday, 9 August. Successful applicants are expected to be notified by the end of August in preparation for Seniors Week in October.
