Sentimental ring stolen during Ashburton theft

Detectives from Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit are hoping to identify two women after a sentimental ring was stolen from a vehicle in Ashburton last year.

Investigators have been told two women approached the vehicle in the driveway of a Welfare Parade home about 8.15am on Thursday, 11 November 2021.

The pair stole a handbag which contained a distinctive and sentimental ring which is family air loom, and an iPad.

The empty handbag was later found nearby on Sunday, 28 November.

Detectives have been investigating the incident and are today releasing CCTV footage and images of two women who they believe can assist with their ongoing enquiries.

The first woman is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged between 20-30 years, with blonde tipped hair and possibly has a tattoo on her right arm.

The second woman is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged between 20-30 years, with brown hair.

Both were wearing black clothing.

Detectives have also released an image of the stolen ring and urge anyone who recognises it to come forward.

The ring is yellow gold with intricate filigree set with a pink diamond, which has a purple hue to it.
