Series of wilful and obscene exposures in Box Hill

Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of wilful and obscene exposure incidents in Box Hill earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a 25-year-old Blackburn North woman was walking along Whitehorse Road, near Clota Avenue, when a man pulled up beside her in a black Holden Commodore and asked for directions to a nearby shopping centre about 6.40pm on 3 January.

The woman noticed the man had exposed his penis and was masturbating as he was asking her for directions.

The man then drove off and was last seen travelling east along Whitehorse Road.

Police believe the same man approached a 17-year-old Box Hill girl as she was walking along Dorking Road about 20 minutes later.

Again, the man asked directions to a nearby shopping centre as he began masturbating while sitting in the vehicle.

Investigators believe the same man then approached a 34-year-old Box Hill woman as she was walking near the service lane on Whitehorse Road, near Dorking Street, on 12 January about 4.05pm.

The man drove up to the woman and again, asked her for directions to a nearby shopping centre while masturbating in the car.

Police have interviewed a 36-year-old Lalor man and he has been released pending further enquiries.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the wilful and obscene exposure incidents is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
