Serious assault at Waterford West, QLD

Detectives from Logan Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following an alleged assault at Waterford West on Sunday night which left a woman with serious injuries, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 7pm police attended an Allora Street address following reports of a disturbance.

A man was seen leaving the residence and a 31-year-old woman was located inside with a head wound.

She was transported to Logan Hospital for further treatment and later transferred to QEII Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

A 39-year-old Waterford West man has since been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed – domestic violence offence.

He is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today (August 1).
