Serious assault charges, Surfers Paradise

Police have arrested and charged three men following an alleged serious assault in Surfers Paradise this morning (Saturday, August 28).

Shortly after 2am a fight occurred outside a licensed venue on Orchid Avenue during which time a 31-year-old Ashmore man was punched, kicked and knocked to the ground.

He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.

Three men, an 18-year-old from Nerang, a 19-year-old from Pacific Pines and a 19-year-old from Capalaba, arrested at the scene have all been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in company.

They are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on September 13.
