Serious assault in Alexandra Headland, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man they wish to speak to following a serious assault in Alexandra Headland last week, Queensland Police say.

Around 11pm on December 16, a man assaulted another man in the toilets at a licensed premises on Alexandra Parade.

The man pushed open an unlocked cubicle door and punched the a 21-year-old Mooloolaba man a number of times in the head

He sustained cuts and bruising to the left side of his face and was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment where it was determined he had a serious injury (known as an orbital blowout fracture) to his eye.

The man police are looking for (pictured) is described as Caucasian and was wearing a white t-shirt with a grey or navy pocket sewn onto the left side as well as a black hat with white piping around the brim.

He was wearing sunglasses on top of the hat and had black shoes on.

Anyone who recognises the man or knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact police.
