Serious assault of paramedics in Redlynch, QLD

A woman has been charged after two ambulance officers were allegedly assaulted overnight in Cairns, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that just before 12am a woman was being treated by paramedics in the back of an ambulance outside of a Redlynch address when she became aggressive.

The woman has then allegedly assaulted a female paramedic before also striking a male ambulance officer.

The woman was transported to Cairns Base Hospital where she allegedly fled the scene and was later located and arrested by police.

The 24-year-old woman from White Rock has been charged with two counts serious assault public officer and obstruct police.

She is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on November 16.

The QAS Officers, a 39-year-old woman and 48-year-old man, both sustained minor bruising as a result of the incident.
