Police have charged a man following a disturbance at Yeppoon last night, Queensland Police say.
It will be alleged that around 10pm, police attended a James Street address where the 38-year-old man had damaged a window and breached a domestic violence order.
As officers attempted to arrest the man, he allegedly punched an officer in the face.
Police deployed a conducted energy weapon (Taser) and took the man into custody without any further incident.
The police officer sustained minor injuries which was treated at the scene.
The man was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital for observations.
He has been charged with two counts of serious assault police officer, contravention of domestic violence order, wilful damage and possession of a knife in a public place.
He is scheduled to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on October 4.
