Five people have been injured in a crash involving 2 vehicles on the Arnhem Highway about 30km from the Stuart Highway turnoff this afternoon.
About 12pm the crash was reported to NT Emergency Service personnel in the Joint Emergency Services Communications Centre (JESCC).
The Arnhem Highway was closed to all traffic near Window on the Wetlands about 1pm while emergency services attended the scene.
One vehicle had 4 occupants while there was a driver in the other vehicle.
All of the 5 occupants involved in the crash have been taken to hospital.
Three of the people are in a critical condition.
The Arnhem Highway is expected to remain closed to all traffic until late tonight while the NT Major Crash Unit conducts its investigation.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnesses the crash or has dash cam footage along the Arnhem Highway from earlier today to contact them on 131 444.
