Serious drug charges at Gold Coast

Officers from Taskforce Maxima yesterday charged a 35-year-old man with serious drug offences including trafficking on the Gold Coast.

Around 8.30am detectives executed a search warrant at a house at Upper Coomera allegedly locating cocaine, MDMA, testosterone, a quantity of cash, ammunition, three mobile phones, a money counter, scales and a gel blaster handgun.

A 35-year-old Upper Coomera man has been charged with three counts of trafficking dangerous drugs, four counts of possession of a dangerous drug (major charge) and one count each of authority required to possess explosives, possessing anything for use in the commission of crime defined in Part 2, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act and possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used.

The man is expected to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Troy Lehmann of Taskforce Maxima said police will continue to focus on individuals who commit criminal offences to keep our community safe.
