Serious Drug Offences At Kingston

A 27-year-old man has been charged with a range of serious drug-related offences after detectives from Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) executed a search warrant at a residence in Kingston yesterday.

During a search of the residence, MOCS detectives located and seized 1.25kg of methylamphetamine, cocaine, $192,000 in cash, electronic scales and encrypted communication devices.

The 27-year-old Kingston man has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis) and one count each of supplying dangerous drugs, possessing utensils, possessing property suspected of being proceeds of a crime, possessing things used in the commission of a crime, possessing medications or poisons, and breach of bail conditions.

He is expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Detective Inspector Craig Bowman said every dangerous drug seizure is protecting the community and potentially someone's life from harm.

"Seizing dangerous drugs before they hit the streets, especially in such large quantities, is a step towards a safer Queensland for everyone," Detective Inspector Bowman said.

"We're committed to detecting and disrupting serious crime and will continue to proactively target offenders who aim to cause harm.

"We appreciate the support of the local community and the ongoing dedication of our QPS officers to protect our communities and help Queenslanders feel safer."
