Serious injuries sustained following assault, NSW

A man will appear in court charged over the alleged assault of a man at Potts Point this morning, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 1.30am (Friday 24 November 2017) an argument occurred between two men, aged 22 and 58, on Darlinghurst Road, Potts Point.

Police were told the younger man assaulted the older man by punching him multiple times to the face and body.

The older man sustained multiple facial fractures and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.

The men are known to each other.

Officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command attended and arrested the 22-year-old man.

He was taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was charged with cause grevious bodily harm to person with intent.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today, Friday 24 November 2017.
