Serious Injury Crash Hillside Crescent West Launceston, TAS

At about 9.20 pm on Thursday 8 September 2016, a serious crash occurred on Hillside Crescent in West Launceston involving a car and a motorcycle, Tasmania Police say.

A maroon 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle was being driven south on Hillside Crescent by a 25 year old Newnham man when it crossed onto the incorrect side of the roadway and into the path of a north-bound white 2007 Subaru station wagon driven by a 39 year old Rocherlea man.

As a result of the impact, the rider of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike impacting with the roadway.  He sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the Launceston General Hospital.

The driver and only occupant of the Subaru was not injured.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.
