Around midday today, a 70-year-old Melbourne man, who was travelling as part of an organised motorcycle tour, was involved in a serious single vehicle crash on the Tasman Highway at Goshen, when his motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into an embankment.
The man was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene, which was also attended by police and State Emergency Service members, and subsequently transported to St Helens, where he was airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital with suspected spinal and pelvic injuries.
