Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred on the Bruce Highway at Gumlu yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.
Initial investigations suggest around 4.50pm a car travelling north on the highway has crossed to the wrong side of the road and collided with a truck travelling in the opposite direction.
As a result of the crash a 25-year-old Brisbane man, the driver and sole occupant of the car, was airlifted by helicopter to the Townsville Hospital with a severe arm injury.
The 52-year-old truck driver was not physically injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
