Serious traffic crash at Waterford West, QLD

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are seeking the public’s help to piece together the moments leading up to a serious traffic crash at Waterford West this evening, Queensland Police say.

Around 5.30pm, a Ford utility was travelling west on Muchow Road when it lost control, causing the vehicle to slide and spin 180 degrees.

The ute crossed onto the incorrect side of the road before hitting a parked vehicle with the impact moving the parked car some distance.

The passenger, an 18-year-old man, sustained compound fractures to both legs, extensive pelvic injuries, suspected fractured neck and internal injuries. He remains in a critical condition at the Princess Alexandra Hospital tonight.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was also taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone who may have heard or noticed the vehicle shortly before the crash, or who may have dashcam footage, is encouraged to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
