The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a serious, single-vehicle traffic crash which occurred in the early hours of the morning in Buccan, Queensland Police say.
Just after midnight, a vehicle travelling west along Waterford Tamborine road has left the road and crashed into a tree.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and assisted the trapped passenger out of the vehicle.
The passenger, a 16-year-old boy, was later transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man was transported to Logan Central Hospital in a stable condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit are continuing with their investigations.
