Serious traffic incident at Wurtulla, QLD

A 38-year-old man was transported to hospital in a critical condition last night following a skateboarding incident on the Sunshine Coast.

Initial information indicates the man was riding an electric motorised off-road scooter near Oceanic Drive at Wurtulla around 9.30pm when it appears he has fallen off, hitting his head on the road.

Police and emergency services attended the scene and he was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with a significant head injury.

He was then transferred to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
