Serious two vehicle collision, NSW

Two men have been seriously injured after a vehicle collision in the Hawkesbury., NSW Police say

Around 12.15pm on Tuesday 23 May 2017, emergency services were called to Grose Vale Road, Grose Vale, following reports that two vehicles had collided head on.

The result of the impact was severe, with an 87-year-old male driver and a 42-year-old male driver trapped in their vehicles.

The road was closed and SES Hawkesbury attended and removed the two men. They were conveyed to Westmead Hospital by Ambulance paramedics with Doctors from the Care Flight Helicopter.

The 87-year-old man is in a serious and unstable condition with possible internal injuries, and the 42-year-old man is in a serious but stable condition with leg fractures and other injuries.

Officers from Hawkesbury Local Area Command established a crime scene and the Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation.

"Police urge people to take care at all times while driving a motor vehicle as even a few seconds of inattention can have dire consequences" said Chief Inspector Garry Sims of Hawkesbury Local Area Command.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
