Serious two vehicle crash at Hartley

An investigation is underway into a two-vehicle crash in the state's Central West.

About 1.25pm yesterday (Sunday 12 February 2023), emergency services responded to reports of a head on crash between a Ford Ranger and a Ford Fiesta along Jenolan Caves Road, Hartley.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 45-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the Ranger and the 38-year-old male driver and 37-year-old female passenger from the Fiesta at the scene.

The driver of the Ranger was taken to Nepean Hospital with minor injuries and later released.

The occupants of the Fiesta were airlifted to Westmead Hospital. The 38-year-old man is in a stable condition with the woman listed as being in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Chiefly Police District established a crime scene that was later examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

As inquiries into the circumstances of the crash continue police are urging anyone who may have witnessed – or has any available dashcam footage – of the crash to contact Lithgow Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
