Services and programs make a comeback

Several of Mitchell Shire Council's most popular services and programs will make a welcome return from Monday 1 February.

Children's library programs will return to Council's libraries for the first time since March last year, while Youth Rooms in Broadford and Wallan will throw open their doors in line with the school term and Mitchell Leisure Services are also ready to welcome children back to their Learn to Swim classes.

Pre-school children can get the year off to a great start with the return of Babytime (0-18 months), Rhymetime (18 months to 3 years) and Storytime (3+ years) to libraries, with sessions on different days in Beveridge, Broadford, Kilmore, Seymour and Wallan.

After customer feedback, the free weekly programs will now be held at 9.30am to better suit parents who have made school drop-offs.

The programs have been developed to encourage a lifelong love of reading and learning, to provide social connections for children and parents and to familiarise people with the important role libraries play from an early age.
