The Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services, Corey Wingard has thanked the many South Australian State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers for their efforts during the recent storms.
The continuing wild weather through South Australia has so far resulted in the SES responding to over 300 calls for assistance across the state.
"It is reassuring to know that there are hundreds of SES volunteers in South Australia who are always ready to help their communities and beyond, whenever the need arises," Minister Wingard said.
"During these storms, we should reflect and recognise the exemplary efforts of our volunteers, including those from the SA Country Fire Service (CFS), and thank their employers and families who support them when the call goes out."
The SES has been responding to many calls for assistance since early this morning, with around 310 jobs so far, most involving fallen trees around Adelaide and surrounding areas.
"They are called-out at any time of the day or night and leave their work and families to respond and help," Minister Wingard said.
"This is why our volunteers are highly respected and I commend their dedication and commitment towards their local communities."
Minister Wingard warned anyone in storm-affected areas to take extra care on the roads where fallen trees and other obstacles can be hazardous.
"Anyone who needs assistance with fallen trees on a building or structure, or if access on a road has been blocked, I urge them to contact the SES on 132 500 or Triple Zero in a life-threatening situation," Minister Wingard said.
A severe weather warning from the Bureau of Meteorology is current for the Riverland, Murraylands, Mid North, Upper South East districts and parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges.
