Seven firearms stolen during break and enter, NSW

Police are investigating the theft of seven registered firearms from a property at Oak Flats this afternoon, NSW Police say.

Between 12.45pm and 1.45pm today (Thursday 18 January 2018), a home on Central Avenue was broken into and a firearms safe was removed from the premises.

Seven rifles were stolen from the home as well as an amount of cash and jewellery.

Police from Lake Illawarra Police District attended and established a crime scene. Detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident and are asking anyone who has information in relation to the incident to come forward.

Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from any member of the public that may have seen person or vehicle acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Central Ave, Oak Flats earlier this afternoon.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
