Seventh Man Charged in 2023 Greenacre Kidnapping

Robbery & Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged a seventh man following an investigation into an alleged kidnapping in Greenacre.

About 8.30pm on Friday 17 February 2023, emergency services were called to Wentworth Street in Greenacre following a concern for welfare report.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and located a 30-year-old man with injuries to his hands, face and feet.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition and now requires ongoing medical treatment.

A crime scene was established before the investigation was taken carriage of by State Crime Command's Robbery & Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Merrilee.

Inquiries revealed the man had been allegedly abducted and injured by a group of unknown men the previous day.

The incident was linked to two other kidnappings that occurred between Tuesday 14 February 2023 and Thursday 16 February 2023.

Police will allege three people were targeted as part of an ongoing drug dispute between an Organised Criminal Network (OCN).

On Friday 27 March 2026, a crime scene warrant was executed at a property in the Southern Highlands, which police will allege was used as a stronghold by the kidnappers.

About 10.15am yesterday (Friday 1 May 2026), strike force detectives arrested a man in Horsley Park.

He was taken to Cabramatta Police Station, where he was charged with take / detain in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm and wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent.

The man was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Division Local Court 6 today (Saturday 2 May 2026).
