Seventh person charged after investigations into fatal crash - Albion Park Rail

A seventh person has been charged following investigations by Lake Illawarra detectives into a fatal crash at Albion Park Rail earlier this year.

Shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 21 August 2019), detectives attended a home in Berkeley and arrested a 26-year-old woman.

The woman is alleged to have been linked to those previously charged over the collision that killed a 25-year-old man and left three others with serious injuries when a Ford Territory struck a petrol tanker in the early hours of Saturday 18 May 2018 at Albion Park Rail.

Strike Force Warrane, comprising detectives from Lake Illawarra Police District, was formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

She was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.

The woman was refused bail and will appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Thursday 22 August 2019).

She is the seventh person to be charged over the incident.
