Sexual Assault Appeal, Yeppen Lagoon

Police are appealing for witnesses and information to assist investigations into a reported sexual assault in The Range yesterday morning, 25 January.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 10.30am, a woman was sexually assaulted by an unknown man in the vicinity of Yeppen Lagoon.

The matter was reported to police at 11am and the woman was taken to hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment and professional support.

Subsequently, investigations led to the declaration of a crime scene later that day in Yeppen Lagoon's north, in the vicinity of a walking track adjacent the nearby rugby field's car park.

Police are urgently appealing for any person who may have been on the walking track before or after 10.30am, or who were in the vicinity of this area at the time or have CCTV or dashcam from nearby roads to come forward immediately.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police are conducting proactive patrols of the area.
