Shadow ministers congratulated on appointments

Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees

The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) is looking forward to building a strong working relationship with new Shadow Minister for Financial Services Stuart Robert as it seeks support for policies that help millions of working Australians with their superannuation.

"We congratulate Mr Robert, Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor and Shadow Minister for Finance Jane Hume on their appointments to shadow portfolios that interact with the retirement savings of millions of working Australians," said AIST CEO Eva Scheerlinck.

"As we have always done, AIST will continue to work with Parliamentarians of all political persuasions to improve our already world class superannuation system to ensure it delivers for all Australians.

"As a peak body, AIST will continue to push for government action that addresses that gender gap that sees women with lower incomes and less super than men, including the payment of the Superannuation Guarantee on paid parental leave.

"Any further changes to what is one of the world's best retirement savings systems should improve it rather than undermine its core purpose."
