Sheldon College Fathers' Camp Out under Stars

The Sheldon College oval will once again be transformed into a large campsite for students and their fathers this coming weekend for the Colleges annual Fathers' Camp Out.

Each year the Camp Out is held for College students from Kindergarten through to Year 6 and highlights the important role that dads play in their children's' lives.

This year, more than 600 students and their fathers will take part in the event.

Health and Physical Education Teachers, Mr Joshua McHugh and Mr Scott Jacka and will host the guests over the weekend.

"This event is a reminder of just how valuable it is when our College Dads take the time out with their children to make the memories that count," said Mr McHugh.

"Our annual Fathers' Camp Out is not only an opportunity for our Dads to spend time with their children, but also to forge new friendships, share experiences and become part of the tapestry of College life."

Once again, the Fathers' Camp Out will raise funds to sponsor a Kenyan student to attend the Sunrise of Africa School. The proceeds raised during the event will cover a child's 2020 school fees, thereby demonstrating the importance of giving to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

An exciting array of daytime activities will take place over the weekend to entertain children and their fathers.

These activities will include puppetry, pool games, an inflatable world, a movie night and many more outdoor activities.

Several barbecues will feed the brave souls during the camp-out with hundreds of sausages, steaks and bread rolls being dispersed.

The College would also like to acknowledge the many generous sponsors who have helped support the event.

Sheldon College is a state-of-the-art educational institution set on 56 acres in Brisbane's Bayside that educates students from 15 months through to Year 12.
