"The assistance enables community groups that would otherwise struggle to provide their ongoing services and support to our residents," Mayor Homer said.

"Each year, Council is proud to fund projects, clubs and events and it is fantastic to see that many of these are part of the community's social calendar.

"I am proud to see that Council has contributed over $70,000 back in to the local community," Mayor Homer said.

The Mayor, Councillors and staff hosted a celebration and media opportunity for the successful applicants on 12 September.
