Council adopts full suite of strategic plans, Budget, Fees and Charges
Shellharbour City Council has formally adopted its full suite of Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) documents, at Monday's Council meeting, setting a clear direction for the city's future.
These documents include the Shellharbour 2035 Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program 2025-2029, Operational Plan 2025-2026, annual Budget, Fees and Charges, and the Resourcing Strategy 2025-2035.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the adoption marked the final step in a comprehensive planning process shaped by strong community input.
"These plans are about more than roads and services. They set out our shared vision and guide how we will grow and manage Shellharbour into the future," Mayor Homer said.
"I want to thank everyone who took the time to share their views during the exhibition period. That feedback helped us strengthen the plans and make sure they reflect the community's priorities."
During the public exhibition, Council received 39 submissions, with residents and organisations raising ideas and suggestions around local safety, recreation spaces, youth programs, and sustainability.
The Community Strategic Plan outlines a 10-year vision and big-picture goals for Shellharbour, while the Delivery Program and Operational Plan detail the specific actions Council will take over the next one to four years to bring that vision to life.
The adopted budget includes more than $76 million for capital works in 2025-2026, with key projects such as the Tripoli Way Extension, Shellharbour Boatyard, and upgrades to parks, playgrounds, paths and cycleways across the city.
To help fund these projects and continue delivering services, Council adopted a 4% increase to rates in line with the NSW Government's rate cap.
This increase helps continue to fund essential services and infrastructure that benefit the whole community from parks and pools to libraries, roads, and waste services.
Council is committed to delivering value for money and ensuring Shellharbour continues to be a great place to live, work and visit.
