Shepparton Bushfire Donation Centre Opens Wed-Thu

Greater Shepparton City Council will be re-opening its Bushfire Donation Drop-off Centre at the Multi-Purpose Pavilion, Shepparton Showgrounds. Donations will be accepted tomorrow, Wednesday 14 January and Thursday 15 January 2026, from 7am to 8pm.

  • Donations will be delivered to the Seymour Relief Centre to assist bushfire-affected residents in neighbouring councils.
  • Items accepted include toiletries, electrolyte drinks, bottled water, new blankets, pillows and towels; second-hand goods and clothing will not be accepted.
  • Access is via Gate 7 on Fryers Street Extension, with Council staff onsite to manage traffic and safety.

The donations will be delivered to the Seymour Relief Centre on Friday 16 January 2026, where staff will then coordinate the distribution of all donations to assist the Emergency Relief Centres supporting residents in neighbouring councils affected by the bushfires.

Please see a list of the items that ARE NEEDED:

  • Toiletries (particularly sanitary items, deodorant and wipes)
  • Electrolyte drinks
  • Pre-packed lollies
  • Bottled water
  • New blankets, pillows and towels (new only – tags will be checked)

Council reminds residents that the following items that CAN NOT BE ACCEPTED.

  • Bedding
  • Second-hand goods
  • Clothing
  • Furniture

Access to the Donation Drop-off Centre will be available via the Fryers Street Extension, at Gate 7 (between SPC and the Showgrounds).

Council asks residents to follow staff instructions at all times to maintain safe traffic conditions.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, thanked the community for their generosity during the first Donation Drop-Off Centre which was coordinated on Saturday.

"A semi-load of fruit bins full of donations was collected on Saturday and delivered to the Seymour Relief Centre on Sunday. These donations are already making a huge difference for people who have been affected by the bushfires," he said.

"The generosity and selflessness shown by the Greater Shepparton community over the past few days has been truly inspiring. Anyone who would like to get involved is encouraged to donate their items at the Drop-Off Centre on Wednesday and Thursday, with these items going directly to people in need."
